Substantial Web Outage Impacts Numerous Sites and Applications

A large-scale internet failure has affected many sites and applications around the world, as users experiencing problems getting online after problems at the online infrastructure platform.

The disrupted platforms include the social media app Snapchat, the gaming platform Roblox, the messaging service Signal, and Duolingo, in addition to several Amazon-operated operations such as its primary shopping platform and the Ring doorbell company.

Throughout Britain, the financial institution Lloyds was impacted along with its affiliates Halifax and the Scottish bank, while there were additional accounts of problems reaching the the tax authority site on that morning. Additionally in Britain, several Ring device owners used online platforms to state their security devices were failing.

In the UK alone, reports of issues on particular applications ran into the thousands for every service.

The company stated that the problem began in the Atlantic coast of the US at AWS, a section that supplies crucial internet infrastructure for numerous firms, who lease capacity on Amazon servers. AWS is the biggest global cloud computing platform.
