According to latest data, the population of people aged 100 and above in the UK has doubled from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.
Between 2004 and 2024, the figure of men aged 100 or over has increased threefold from 910 to 3,100. Over the same timeframe, the number of women aged 100 or over nearly doubled from 7,400 to 13,600.
