Alarming Video Reveals Point Police Are Stabbed in Ambush
A ranking policeman who jumped to the assistance of a fellow officer that got attacked by a blade-wielder has been awarded the King's Commendation for Valor.
Sergeant Tim Ansell fought with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown following he pressed a weapon to the neck of his fellow officer Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their third officer, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a motorist following a vehicle incident in that location in mid-2023.
Brown stabbed and slashed both Sgt Ansell and Sergeant Foster before PC Wolstencroft stopped him with a stun gun.
"Officer knifed," PC Wolstencroft stated over his communication device.
Bodyworn and vehicle camera recording made public by the force depicted Brown, that was clothed in dark clothing with a head covered, rush to Sergeant Foster from behind with a weapon extended.
He ran into the policeman who tripped and fell to the pavement, after which Sergeant Ansell intervened and attempted to subdue him to the ground even though being repeatedly struck with the weapon.
PC Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and awaited a safe opportunity, concluding the struggle to an end.
Sergeant Ansell was heard stating: "I need help on my neck now, I'm bleeding in the neck."
Sergeant Ansell suffered multiple open wounds to his throat and more cuts to his arms and body, while Sergeant Foster received knife wounds.
Authorities stated Sergeant Foster utilized his palms to stem his colleague's hemorrhaging before emergency responders arrived.
The latest award follows subsequent to the three officers were granted departmental Bravery Awards in late 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the area officer association in April 2024.
They further earned a North West Bravery Award in mid-2024.
"The actions of all three officers ultimately saved one another and ensured no members of the public experienced any wounds."
Brown was given to an indefinite hospital order in April 2024, as stated by authorities.
